Updates (Old)

This page will guide you on how to update your Relay. This update adds the NEW Proxy feature, improves the Relay Control Panel and adds performance adjustments for increased consensus weight.

What's new in version 2.0.3

New features for the Relay Control Panel:

  • The reshaped and improved Home page displays in depth information about your Relay, such as:

    • Consensus Flags.

    • Public and Local IP addresses.

    • Identification parameters.

  • The new Relay Family page allows the Operator to easily manage fingerprints when operating more than one Relay.

  • Added field for NFT ID in the Relay Settings page.

  • Added a 'Undo Changes' button.

  • Added Hide/Reveal button on the Home Page for safe presentation.

  • Option to keep or purge all settings including fingerprint upon toggling the Relay to OFF.

  • New❗🎉 The Proxy Settings page is now launched as a BETA and offers operators a Socks5 proxy feature. This enables a secure tunnel for your Internet traffic from web browsers or other applications, encrypting your data and sending it anonymously through the Anyone network.

Changes in the Relay Control Panel:

  • Reshaped Network Settings page.

  • The Logs page adds an additional log to simplify any troubleshooting scenarios.

  • The Email field in Relay Settings is now optional.

  • Minimum value for Bandwidth Rate is set to 2 Mbps.

  • Min and Max value for Recurring Data Limit is set to 15 GB and 10 TB.

  • Rebranded to Anyone.

Optimizations and bug fixes

  • Added PWM control for the cooling fan reducing fan sound considerably.

  • Refined parameters for the Ethernet interface shows increased measurement values which can result in increased consensus weight and also solves a bug for unmeasured relays stuck at consensus of 20.

  • Improved logic in backend reduces loading times.

  • Added and modified sequences and states for the light indicators for the LED-lights.

  • Logic for hardware validation.

How to update:

  1. Grab any USB drive and plug it into a computer. Delete any existing files on the USB drive and ensure the filesystem on the USB drive is FAT or FAT32.

Ensure the filesystem on the USB drive is FAT or FAT32.

  1. Download the .zip file from the link below and extract all contents into the root directory of the USB drive as shown in the picture.

Only if you have changed the default password for the Relay Control Panel, then open the file default.cfg with any editor and change the first line "01_user_password=MyPassword" to include your password.

  • If the lights of the relay flashes in Red, it means the password is wrong in default.cfg

  • If the lights of the relay flashes in Blue, it means the files have not been placed properly, delete all files from the USB and re-add them again.

  1. Make sure the Relay is powered ON, then insert the USB Drive into the USB port of the Relay.

Do not unplug the USB drive until the lights of the Relay starts flashing

  1. When updating from version 1.3.2, wait until the lights on the Relay start flashing Green, it takes less than 1 min, then unplug the USB. When updating from version 2.0.0 and above, unplug the USB when the lights start flashing Green, for this version the update will start after unplugging the USB.

During the update process, you can expect the Relay to restart, with the fans activating and the lights pulsing red until the process is complete. Do not remove the USB or power off the device while the update is running, as this may cause serious issues with the operation of the device.

Update the Anon software to the latest version.

After a successful update to 2.0.3, go to Relay settings and turn the Relay OFF, save changes, reboot, then turn it ON again, save changes, and reboot.

Check your Anon version in the Home page of the Relay Control Panel
